Fat cell sampling from my abdomen

Have I ever told you that I have always wanted to be a scientist (among other things). The world of science fascinates me, and therefore I have somewhat interesting hobby. I join different studies to learn more about them, and about me. Last week I tested for a vitamin D study, and among some of the things they did to me was a fat cell sampling. Now, I have been asked before if I am afraid of needles, but this needle I insane! They had a hard time pulling any fat cells from my stomach, and it took them four syringes, five tries and three people to get a peanut-sized sample from the left side of my abdomen. I filmed it of course hehe. Enjoy! Tomorrow I’ll show you some more pictures from the study and I’ll discuss different methods for measuring fat percentage!

The inflated lump is the fluid they injected prior to the sampling. Uncomfortable? Yes! It was very uncomfortable, and four days later it still hurts as hell! I am truly a mad dietitian! But honestly, I am already looking for the next study to joing…

My fat cells!
