Scandinavian Developer Conference 2012

The next two days are going to be sooo much fun! Daniel W. and I (fellow programmer/student) won a windows phone application contest and won a 27″ 3D computer screen and a ticket to Scandinavian Developer Conference 2012. I am super excited to go to the conference on Monday and Tuesday, and had a hard time choosing between all the interesting sessions. Exam project: Three-tier Cooperation application using MVC4 (beta)

After two weeks of die-hard programming I handed in the final product last thursday. (individual project this time)

Metro-style typography design based app that works on all major browsers and devices (to my knowledge).

With a minimalistic and clean layout following the Metro recommendations:

- Light, clean, fast
- Content not chrome
- Authentically digital
- Typography
- Motion

(To sum it up: Simplicity, Typography, Vibrant)

Requirements added later by the ‘customer’: View all requirements here

User can view old-chats
User can decide not to keep chat-history
User can send and receive freinds requests, two users are friends when a request is approved

Hey Iris it’s your birthday!

My oh my, just turned 28 last friday, and it had to be celebrated in style! To sum it up, my 28th year was celebrated with yummy fresh food, family and friends, a little backyard shooting with an airgun and a really cool crossbow, mountainbiking/downhill, weightlifting at the gym and today squash and badminton (we were going to play tennis but all the courts were already booked). And of course I managed to sneak in a few programming tutorials, this time on TPL (Task parallel library).A big thank you to all my friends and family for all the birthday wishes on facebook, and in private. I love you all very much and I feel so lucky for having you in my life. You all know how much you mean to me, andhow each and one of you have contributed to help me grow as a person! kisses and hugs! I guess no sleep

as I write the last post I just realized something … “Of course everything is done with AJAX”- teacher wrote
.Damn.
I totally missed that.
Needless to say I was pretty devestated. A week with very little sleep, and I was already feeling quite stressed about meeting the demands on time. Now I have to do the rest of the specifications (about 40% left) as well as redo almost the whole application. In two days.
Its almost 2 am, I have to get up at 6am, and I am still att it. I am very VERY upset and unhappy. And mad. At myself for missing it, as I always read specifications very carefully, and for knowing that I wont be able to produce the application I wanted. I am sure I am still going to pass, even with what I have now, but for me it wont be good enough- cause I know I can do better. If only I had read that damn line earlier.
I guess it is back to the drwaing board …
